1.0 - Introduction

got fox? is an archive and index for erotic furry stories. We're trying to make it be a reliable, useful, free archive, open to anyone who wants their stories published, and open to anyone who wants to read them.

If you have any questions about got fox? that aren't answered here, send them to stories@gotfox.com.

2.0 - General Questions

2.1 - Why another story archive?

There are a couple other archives and indexes on the net, but archives seem to come and go, and links on indexes break frequently. Also, no furry story archive we've seen ANYWHERE has had a good searching system. We intend to provide both stability (through a privately owned, well established site) and functionality (with a custom search engine). We also plan to include synopsises and reviews of stories.

2.2 - How much does it cost?

Nothing. Reading it costs nothing. Searching costs nothing. Submitting stories costs nothing. We don't plan to ever change this. It's doubtful that we could turn a profit doing this, even if we wanted to. We're doing this because we want a good story archive, not so we can get rich.

2.3 - Since it's free, does that mean I can do whatever I want with the stories?

No. Just because the stories are in a free archive does not mean the stories are in the public domain. Stories are copyrighted by their authors, and all rights are reserved by them. If you want to do something with someone's story, you need to contact the author.

Stories here are for personal use only, unless the author says otherwise.

2.4 - What are the reviews, and who are the reviewers?

Reviews are ratings of how good a story is overall, how well written it was in terms of grammar, spelling, writing clarity, etc, and how yiffy a story is. Reviews may also include a brief commentary. These are entirely subjective ratings, and are merely the opinions of the reviewers.

The reviewers themselves are anonymous, but can be distinguished by pseudonyms on the site. If you find that you frequently like the same stories as one of the reviewers, you can look for the stories that they like, and read them.

Answers for Authors

3.1 - Where do I send stories?

Send stories, or URLs where we can find stories, to stories@gotfox.com.

3.2 - Am I good enough to have my stories published here?

Yes! Absolutely anyone is welcome to publish their stories here, as long as it's in some way furry, and it's erotica. We don't discriminate.

It's possible that the reviewers may not like your stories. If you have a big ego, and you're afraid that it might get bruised, it might not be a good idea to send us your stories. However, if you are willing to accept some criticism from Siskel and Ebert, and even better, if you want to learn from it so you can revise your story, or do better on future ones, this may be an excellent place for you.

3.3 - What if I have works in progress, or I want to update a story?

If you have a work in progress, let us know it's URL. We will automatically update all stories every night, so the archive will always have the latest version of your stories.

If you don't have a web site of your own, just send us the newest version of your story when you update it, and we will update the archive.

3.4 - Who owns my story if it's in the archive?

You do! You maintain the copyright, and all other rights to the story. If at any time you wish to remove a story from the archive, let us know.

We don't want to own your stories. We just want to provide a place to collect them, so everyone can enjoy them.

3.5 - Can I keep my story on my web site, and just have a link to it?

Yes, but we discourage it. If your story isn't on our server, someone searching for text in stories won't find your story. We have a reliable, well-connected site, so that stories won't disappear if the net is flaky. When stories are kept in the archive, they won't suddenly disappear if you change internet providers. Stories kept in the archive will automatically be updated, so old versions won't accumulate here.

If you still don't want to have your story stored locally on the archive server, we can create a link to it.

3.6 - What kind of stories are or are not allowed on got fox?

We accept any stores that are erotic, and furry. Furry is defined as having anthropomorphic animal characters. They can stand on two legs, or they can talk to each other, or they can even just have coherent thoughts. We're not too picky.

We don't archive stories about zoophilia (sex between humans and completely nonanthropomorphic animals). There are already a number of excellent zoophile story archives on the net, and we don't see the need to duplicate their work.

Stories involving furries and nonanthropomorphic animals are fine.

Humanoid tentacle monster things are not furries. They're anime. Stories with humanoid tentacle monster things will not be included unless there are furries in the story as well.

Dragons, unicorns, centaurs, Pan, Anubis, Bast, and other mythicals are definitely OK.

If you're not sure if your story will be accepted, ask!

What if I'm writing a series, and not all of it is erotic or furry?

As long as some part of your story is furry erotica, we will archive it, including the parts that aren't furry or erotic.
